The Thai troops fired at anti government protestors and in retaliation the demonstrators fought back. The used firebombs and rocks and two people were killed and 94 injured. It was nearing dusk when the soldiers advanced to the area occupied by the protestors. This set the stage for the final blow to end the demonstrations, that has gripped the country which is still reeling from the after effects of the political chaos last year and also the existing economic crisis. The protestors have shown their anger by lighting several city buses on fire. In this situation there is apprehension on travel to Thailand.
