America Eases Cuban Blockade

June 12th, 2009 § 0

America is beginning to relent and ease its Cuban blockade of forty seven years. The Obama administration lifted travel curbs to Cuba and has allowed Cuban Americans to transfer money earned in USA to their relatives in Cuba. Americans would now be allowed to make unlimited money transfers to Cuba and visit their relatives back home unlike in the previous Bush administration when travel to Cuba by natives was restricted to once in three years. Cuban leader Fidel Castro has however called for ending the US embargo that restricts trade between the two countries completely and said lifting of ban should be seen as justice and not charity to Cuba.
